  1. Heartwork, an Album by Carcass. Released 18 October on Earache (catalog no. MOSH 97; Vinyl LP). Genres: Melodic Death Metal.
  2. To be sure, "Heartwork" bears many of the marks of a death metal album: it's heavy, it's aggressive, it's typically pretty fast, and the vocals are harsh. However, this album goes down a lot easier than the typical extreme metal album, thanks to Carcass's top-shelf musicianship and doses of /5().
  3. Front album sculpture "Life Support" copyright H.R. Giger , Used by kind permission. Design by Andrew Tuohy. Later versions come with a bonus track, "This Is Your Life" (). Re-released in by Earache, with two bonus Quicktime videos: No Love Lost & Heartwork.
  4. I remember getting an Earache/Columbia promotional cassette in the mail a few weeks before Heartwork was released to the masses in late ' I had never heard Carcass before and was summarily impressed by their first single, "No Love Lost," a snarling beast of a murder ballad filtered through a prismatically melodic death metal approach.
  5. No love lost when all is said and done There's no love lost The low cost of loving amorous travesty Human frailties and weakness are easy prey How your poor heart will bleed Without emotion, your heartstrings played Strummed and severed to the tune of a tragic serenade No love lost when all is said and done There's no love lost No love lost.
